How do you show your webcam over your shared screen on Windows?

In Zoom, choose a presenter layout (As background, Over the shoulder or Side by side) before you click Share. In Teams, click Share and pick a Presenter mode (Standout, Side-by-side or Reporter). Both work only inside their own app, and not every participant sees them the same way.

Google Meet has no mode like that on its present page; the speaker spotlight in Google Slides only works if you present a tab. PowerPoint's Cameo puts a live camera feed on a slide, in PowerPoint and in PowerPoint Live in Teams.

To get the same result in any meeting app and with any content, use Sincron Screen Tools: press Ctrl + Shift + P, pick an area or a window, turn on the webcam in a corner or side panel and share the window “Screen Tools — Apresentação”.

Comparison

Your options for camera and content together

We checked each one on its official page on October 5, 2026. Where a page does not say, we say so too.

Zoom presenter layouts

Zoom desktop app

Price: Included in Zoom; the help pages do not name a required plan

Best for
Meetings you run in Zoom
Where it wins
Your video goes over the content (As background) or beside it (Over the shoulder, Side by side), movable and resizable, with no extra software.
Where it falls short
It needs a setting turned on in the Zoom web portal, which an administrator can lock. It does not work in cloud recordings or live streams, and people joining by web client, Zoom Rooms or third-party endpoints see a regular share.

Teams Presenter mode

Teams desktop app

Price: Included in Teams

Best for
Meetings you run in Teams
Where it wins
Standout, Side-by-side and Reporter, with a choice of background; you can move and resize your video and the content during the share.
Where it falls short
The interactive modes exist only in the desktop app. People joining by phone or web see the content and your video separately, and it works only in Teams.

PowerPoint Cameo

Windows, macOS and web

Price: Included with Microsoft 365 and PowerPoint 2024

Best for
Presentations built in PowerPoint
Where it wins
A live camera feed on a slide, with shape, border and effects, and animations such as Morph. It works in slide show and in PowerPoint Live in Teams.
Where it falls short
It lives inside PowerPoint, with one camera feed per slide. Microsoft's page does not describe its use in Zoom or Meet.

OBS Studio

Windows 10 and 11, macOS 13+ and Linux

Price: Free and open source

Best for
Streams and recordings with several sources and scenes
Where it wins
Display or window capture, cropping, webcam and any layout you design. Its Virtual Camera appears in apps such as Zoom and Teams.
Where it falls short
You build the scenes and sources yourself, keep OBS open and pick OBS Virtual Camera in the meeting app.

Sincron Screen Tools: Present live

Windows 10 and 11

Price: Free to download; Present live uses no AI and no API key

Best for
Any content in any meeting app, with no scene setup
Where it wins
An area or a window plus your webcam in a corner or side panel, in one window you share in Teams, Zoom or Meet. No recording and no microphone.
Where it falls short
Windows only. You share a window; it is not a virtual camera, so the webcam appears inside the shared content. Its screen is in English and Portuguese.
Step by step

Show your webcam with your screen using Sincron

Four steps, in any meeting app.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + P and choose the content

Select an area to crop exactly what you want, or a window to follow one application.

  2. Turn on the webcam and pick the layout

Choose the camera, the shape (portrait, square or landscape), the size and the corner rounding. In a corner, the webcam floats over the content and you drag it in the preview; in a side panel, it gets its own column.

  3. Share the window “Screen Tools — Apresentação”

In Teams, Zoom or Meet, choose to share a window and select it. Output is 720p by default and can be set to 1080p.

  4. Click Present

Present hides the toolbar. Press Ctrl + Shift + P or Esc in the window to bring the settings back; while they are open, they are visible in the meeting.

Tips

Frame it once, then present

Corner for slides, side panel for dense content

A corner webcam suits slides with empty space at the edge. When the content fills the screen, a side panel keeps your face from covering anything.

Set shape, size and framing before Present

Adjust the shape, the size, the corner rounding and the horizontal framing while the controls are visible, then click Present.

Keep the microphone in the meeting app

Present live does not use the microphone. Mute and unmute in Teams, Zoom or Meet as usual.

Real limits

What each approach cannot do

Built-in modes stay inside their app

Zoom's layouts work in Zoom and Teams' modes work in Teams. PowerPoint's Cameo works inside PowerPoint. For any other combination you need an app that sits on top of all of them.

Meet has no built-in mode for a shared screen

Google Meet's present page describes no way to put your camera over the content. The speaker spotlight in Google Slides only works if you present a tab, and choosing a window or the entire screen turns it off.

Sincron is a window, not a camera

Present live does not create a virtual camera. Your webcam shows up inside the shared content, not as a separate camera in the meeting.

No recording and Windows only

Present live does not record. To record, use the meeting app's recorder. It works on Windows 10 and 11 only.

Common questions about webcam and screen share

How do I show my webcam over my screen share in Zoom?

Turn on presenter layouts in your Zoom web portal settings. Then click Share, choose what to share and pick a layout (As background, Over the shoulder or Side by side) before you click Share.

How do I show my webcam while sharing in Teams?

With your camera on, click Share and choose a Presenter mode: Standout, Side-by-side or Reporter. The interactive modes work in the Teams desktop app.

Can I show my webcam over my slides in Google Meet?

Meet's present page has no mode for it. Google Slides has a speaker spotlight that works if you present a tab, or you can share the window of an app such as Sincron that places your webcam over the content.

What is PowerPoint Cameo?

It is a Microsoft 365 feature (Insert > Cameo) that puts a live camera feed on a slide. It works inside PowerPoint, including PowerPoint Live in Teams.

Do I need a virtual camera or OBS?

Not with Sincron: you pick the content and the webcam in the app and share one window. OBS Studio is the free option if you want custom scenes and a virtual camera.
